Easter is upon us and Meg and I found ourselves feeling Mom guilt and wondering, what’s the expectation around this holiday? What are we spending (in time or money) on eggs and baskets, and is the Easter bunny on par with Santa Claus?
Each of us took to our personal Instagram feeds to ask our friends what they’re doing, and we got some validating and enlightening responses, which we discussed in a video chat! How fun!
(No, neither of us texted the other to say “wear your overalls!”)
Meg’s on spring break, so we jumped in by talking about her recent foray into Substack’s chat feature to ask for swimsuit recommendations. Enjoy, and please let us know if you have an Easter hack we should hear.
What Meg bought this week
Jergens Natural Glow lotion. Amazon just informed me that I have purchased this lotion 21 times. I didn’t even know it was possible to have ordered something that many times. But that’s how much I love this lotion, which gets me at least one “your legs are so tan!” a week during the spring/summer season.
A Flamingo razor. I left my last one in a hotel shower and thought I could maybe get by on some cheap Bics from the grocery store. I have never known such a trial nor such a tribulation. I have missed the Flamingo desperately but then forgotten to order a replacement post-shower for about a month now. Today, though, I have broken the cycle, and a smooth shave is just one Amazon delivery window away.
What Rebbie bought this week
Tae Kwon Do lessons for my 5 year old son. After one trial class watching him do little karate chops with his tiny uncoordinated body, I was a goner. Will I regret committing to karate lessons 2x/week for the next 6 months? Only time can tell.
This duvet cover and matching shams from Quince. It’s my first purchase from Quince and is really soft and feels well made. If anyone’s tried their clothing I would be curious to hear what you think. I’m getting their Instagram ads 24/7.
Til next week!

In my house growing up we didn’t just have the Easter Bunny, but also the “Valentine’s Fairy” who would always bring us some big chocolate candy and a cd or dvd, which was fun even though expected. I’ve also heard of people having a formula for Christmas gifts like one thing you need, one thing you want, a book, and one surprise. I would be less stressed having an expectation like that for Easter where you get this set thing and candy, but I’m not sure what yet. And then hopefully having really good food you only eat that Sunday makes up for the giant Easter basket lol.
