Hello! Today is a short and sweet one. A few things on my mind —
When I posted last week’s Botox conversation to my Instagram stories, I had not one but THREE dudes send DMs telling me not to do it. It stuck out to me because I don’t often get males responding to anything I post. Also because part of Meg and my conversation centered around how the Husbands in the picture tend to have the strongest reactions to it. Does this mean something? I feel like yes. Maybe just how connected female beauty is to men’s opinions? Like I guess it’s better than my guy friends being like, “yeah def get some filler, you’ll be hotter,” but I also am still just surprised. I also went back and read Haley Nahman’s newsletter on cosmetic procedures and was saying amen amen amen as I read. She’s everything.
Meg and I have both been on the hunt for good swimsuits and bras, both wardrobe items with the potential to really crush your soul. We are planning to post about our finds in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that, and if you have a recommend for either, please drop it in the comments!
Most importantly - WE GOT TIX TO BEYONCE AND NOW DON’T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR.
We joked on our about page about how hard it was to get tickets when they first released, but for some reason tickets to the Vegas show are relatively cheap right now. Yes, you can still pay a couple thousand if you’re looking to sit in the Honey Buckin’ Pit, but you can also pay $150 for nosebleeds, which feels like a doable price for the average human.
The problem, of course, is that now we have to decide what to wear. It’ll be the end of July in Vegas, so we’ll need to be skimpy enough to not get heat stroke, but also remember that we’re both nearing 40.
I’ve been audibly gasping anytime a new one of her looks hits my feed. Seeing the ways she’s interpreting cowboy couture is both inspiring and paralyzing; reminiscent of times I brought a photo of Blake Lively to a hair appointment and left inevitably disappointed. We can’t really use Bey as our bar here, otherwise failure is guaranteed.
I’m leaning toward something simple and denim, with a pair boots of course. Boots that will surely give me blisters bc they’ll be brand new, as I have never so much as touched a horse.
I also really loved this little gingham number but it’s sold out and even when in stock cost $270 lol.
Last time I saw Beyonce I remember feeling sad I’d taken the frugal route and not bought a new outfit. But now that my budget includes money AND time AND energy, finding my perfect fit seems trickier.
I’m also having that thing where Pinterest is unhelpful because it’s not primarily a shopping site. I’ll find something I love but it’s out of stock or last year’s model or from some random untagged blog. Do I not know how to Pinterest?
Anyway. Please send any and all ideas/fits/inspiration our way! This feels important! We’ll keep you informed on our progress.
xo,
rebbie and meg
